Everyday, Attorney Bill Vassar sees workers’ compensation and personal injury clients who don’t have enough money to feed their families — and it’s especially difficult for them around the holidays. So when he heard about the efforts of an alliance of Oklahoma law firms and businesses to help fight hunger, he didn’t hesitate to donate to its cause.

Lawyers Against Hunger will feed thousands of Oklahoma families this Thanksgiving. The group sought out donations statewide for the cost of the turkeys to be given to those in need. Mr. Vassar’s donation will provide 15 families with turkeys for their holiday meal.

“There are so many families out there who are facing hard times this year either because of a work injury or car accident,” Mr. Vassar said. “It’s my hope that we can help them see we care about them and want the best holiday possible for them.”

The nonprofit organization is dedicated to fighting hunger, increasing food security for those in need, and providing support grants to other groups that help fight hunger in Oklahoma.
